XBOX SERIES S/X

2020

The Xbox Series X/S launched worldwide on November 10, 2020. The console offered improvements over the Xbox One across the board. It offered 4K gaming, higher speeds thanks to it's SSD, a more PC like look (Series X), backwards compatibility with all Xbox One, Xbox 360 and original Xbox games. Microsoft announced that the Xbox Series X/S launch was the most successful Xbox launch in history, with more consoles sold in more countries in its first 24 hours than in any other previous Xbox release.

Games

The Xbox Series S/X library suffered from the lack of exclusives, especially in comparison to the Nintendo Switch's and PlayStation 5 libraries.

The few exclusives that were Xbox only Forza Horizon 5 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection were played mostly by PC players using Xbox Game Pass which again affected the console sales since there was no longer a true reason to be an Xbox player when you could instead play on PC with a better options through Xbox Game Pass.

Legacy

The Xbox Series S/X will potentially go down in history as the most underated Xbox console of all time for the simple reason that it's lack of sales is not directly because of the console itself but because of a multitude of reasons such as Game Pass, Diminishing exclusives, and overall brutal competition from Nintendo and PlayStation.
